A base kit for garden buildings that is lightweight, easy to use, quick to assemble and kind to the environment.
EcoBase Fastfit Shed Base Kits are designed to provide a firm, long-lasting base on which to install a garden building. Each kit comprises a number of strong, heavy-duty plastic grids that click together, capable of supporting 240 tonnes per m2, and a sheet of weed-resistant membrane to stop weeds growing into the floor. The kit is lightweight and simple to install following the instructions provided - it is a lot lighter and easier to handle than paving flags, less messy and much quicker than laying a wet-mix concrete slab. EcoBase Fastfit Shed Base Kits are suitable for most timber-framed garden buildings including sheds, summer houses, log cabins, log stores, cycle shelters, wheelie bin stores and workshops. No gravel needed.
- Suits all makes and styles of timber garden building
- Rainwater drains through the cavities to earth, keeping the floor bearers dry and ventilated
- Tough recycled plastic grids with integral T-shaped self-fastening connectors
- Made from 100% recycled waste plastics
- Supplied with a sheet of weed-resistant membrane cut to size
- Lightweight, easy to carry and easy to manoeuvre into position
- Gravel is not needed, but exposed cells near the perimeter can optionally be decorated with aggregate
- Rot proof and chemically inert - no maintenance needed
Choosing your size
Choose the kit that matches the footprint of your building. If you're buying a Norven Gardens building, we'll recommend the right kit on the building's page. Not sure? Request a call back and we'll help.
Delivery
Free delivery to mainland England, Wales and lowland Scotland. Your base kit is sent separately from your building, direct from the manufacturer by courier, usually within 3-5 working days, so it can be laid before your building arrives. You'll receive delivery alerts by email and text. For other areas, please contact us before ordering.
About Us
About Us

Welcome to Norven Gardens, the home of garden rooms, log cabins, garden offices, potting sheds and greenhouses, delivered to your door across the UK.
We believe your garden should be more than the view from the kitchen window. It can be a quiet office away from the house, a place to grow your own, somewhere to entertain friends, or simply a peaceful spot to switch off. Our job is to help you find the right building to make that happen.
A note from our founder
Hi, I'm Macie King, and I started Norven Gardens because I genuinely care about the spaces people live in. Our homes and gardens are where we unwind, spend time with the people we love, and make the memories that matter, and I think everyone deserves an outdoor space that feels like their own.
When I looked at how people buy garden buildings, I saw how stressful it could be: confusing sizes, unclear delivery dates and very little help when you need it. I wanted to change that. My aim is simple: to make getting your dream garden as easy as possible, from choosing the right building to the day it arrives, with a real person on hand to help along the way.
Whether it's a greenhouse for your first tomatoes, a potting shed for your hobby or a garden office you'll use every day, I want you to love the space you create, and to enjoy the process of getting there.
Macie King, Founder
Our story
Norven Gardens started in Blackburn with a simple idea: buying a garden building online should be easy, honest and stress-free. We began with greenhouses, and as more customers asked us for somewhere to work, relax and store their things, we grew our range to include log cabins, garden offices, garden rooms, potting sheds, garden bars and log stores.
We're still a small, independent business, and we're proud of that. It means every order matters to us, and you'll always deal with people who care about getting it right.
How we work
We're an online retailer, and we don't hold stock in our own warehouse. Garden buildings are large and many are made to order, so instead we work directly with established UK manufacturers and suppliers, including Mercia Garden Products, our Yorkshire manufacturing partner Woodlands Home & Garden Group (who make our Norven range), and Aosom (Outsunny). When you place an order with us, we pass it straight to the manufacturer, who builds or picks your item and delivers it direct to your door.
This means your building comes fresh from the people who make it, without extra handling, and we can keep prices fair. You still deal with us from start to finish: we take your order, confirm your delivery date, keep you updated and look after any questions, returns or after-sales issues.
What we offer
- Log cabins & garden offices - from compact studios to large 44mm garden rooms, ready for all-year use.
- Garden rooms - including fully installed, insulated rooms for a true home office.
- Potting sheds & garden bars - practical, characterful buildings for the hobby gardener and the host.
- Greenhouses - wooden and aluminium greenhouses in a range of sizes.
- Log stores & add-ons - the finishing touches for your garden.
Why choose Norven Gardens?
- Quality you can rely on - our timber buildings are made by established UK manufacturers, many made to order, and backed by manufacturer guarantees.
- Free delivery to most of mainland UK - with your delivery date arranged with you.
- Clear, honest information - sizes, wall thicknesses, lead times and what's included, set out plainly on every product page.
- Real help when you need it - not sure which size or wall thickness is right? Request a call back and we'll talk it through with you.
Our vision
Modern life is busy, and our gardens are often the first thing to be forgotten. We want to change that by helping people turn their outdoor space into somewhere they genuinely want to be, whether that's to work, grow, relax or spend time with family. Our aim is to become a trusted name for garden buildings across the UK, known for quality, honesty and great service.

Returns & Delivery
Order Confirmation
Payment is taken in full when you place your order, and you'll receive an order confirmation email straight away. We then place your order with the manufacturer and email you to confirm your expected delivery date.
If anything you've ordered turns out to be unavailable, or delayed beyond the lead time shown on the product page, we'll contact you straight away. You can then choose a new delivery date or cancel for a full refund to your original payment method.
Order Delivery
Delivery times depend on the product, so please check the lead time shown on each product page. As a guide:
- Mercia greenhouses, sheds and log cabins, and our other garden products: usually 3-14 working days.
- Mercia Insulated Garden Rooms: 20-30 working days (around 4-6 weeks), including installation by the manufacturer's team.
- Norven timber garden buildings: made to order, 5-35 working days (about 1-7 weeks) depending on the building and the time of year. The current lead time is shown on each product page.
Delivery charges: delivery is free to most of mainland UK. For some remote postcode areas a delivery surcharge applies, and this is always shown at checkout before you pay. Some products can't be delivered to certain areas (see the Norven delivery areas below). If you're not sure about your postcode, email help@norvengardens.com before ordering.
We'll send you tracking or delivery booking details by email. If you haven't heard from us or received your item within the expected timeframe, please email help@norvengardens.com and we'll help.
Delivery for Norven timber garden buildings (sheds, potting sheds, log cabins & garden offices)
Our Norven timber garden buildings are made to order in Yorkshire and delivered by our manufacturing partner's own trained delivery team. The delivery paperwork will be in the name of our partner, Woodlands Home & Garden Group.
- Lead time: shown on each product page and currently between 1 and 7 weeks from order. Lead times change through the year, so please contact us if you need a building by a particular date.
- Booking your delivery: once your order is placed you'll receive an email with your provisional delivery week. About 7-10 days before delivery you'll be sent a firm date and time slot, and the delivery team will contact you by phone or email to confirm it. Please reply within 2 working days, or the slot may be released and a new date arranged.
- Your details: please give us a phone number and email address you check regularly. We share your name, delivery address, phone number and email with our delivery partner only so they can arrange and complete your delivery.
- Kerbside delivery and access: delivery is to the kerbside only. The drivers can't carry panels through your property, so you'll need to move them into your garden. Please tell us when you order about anything that could affect delivery, such as narrow lanes, low bridges, weight or height limits, parking restrictions, or dates you're not available. If the vehicle can't reach you and a second delivery is needed, a redelivery charge may apply.
- Delivery areas: free delivery to most of mainland England, Wales and southern Scotland. We can't currently deliver Norven buildings to Northern Ireland (BT), TR, PL, TQ, EX, DT, SA, AB, DD, IV, KW and PH postcodes, the Isle of Wight and parts of the G, PA, KY and FK postcode areas. If you're not sure whether we deliver to you, please email help@norvengardens.com before ordering.
- Assembly: Norven buildings arrive as panels for self-assembly and need a firm, level base. We don't currently offer an installation service for Norven buildings.
Smaller items such as our Norven log stores are delivered by a pallet courier rather than the delivery team above; we'll confirm your delivery date by email.
For cancellations and returns on these buildings, please see Returns below.
Damages:
We ask that you thoroughly inspect all items at the point of delivery. We advise you not to accept delivery of any damaged items. If you discover that an item has been damaged, please send clear photos of the damaged items to help@norvengardens.com so that we can open an insurance claim on your behalf. For Norven timber garden buildings, please note any visible damage on the delivery paperwork and email us photos, ideally within 48 hours of delivery.
Cancellations
You can cancel your order free of charge at any time before delivery - just email us at help@norvengardens.com as early as possible. Once delivered, return terms vary by supplier, as set out below. Refunds are issued to the original payment method used to place the order.
Returns
Our return terms depend on who makes your item. Each supplier's terms are set out below. Whatever you buy, you have at least 14 days from delivery to cancel an online order, and none of this affects your statutory rights.
To start a return, contact us at help@norvengardens.com. Please don't send anything back without contacting us first, as items returned without agreement can't be accepted.
Smaller items sent by courier
To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition you received it, in its original packaging, with proof of purchase. Once your return is accepted, we'll send you the return address and instructions.
Returns for Aosom / Outsunny products
You have 30 days from delivery to return Aosom items, unused and in their original packaging. If your item arrives damaged, defective or with parts missing, please contact us at help@norvengardens.com within 7 days of delivery with photos or video of the issue. We'll arrange a replacement, replacement parts or a full refund at no extra cost to you.
For change-of-mind returns (not faulty or damaged), you're responsible for the cost of returning the item. If you cancel within 14 days of delivery, we'll refund the item price and the standard delivery charge you paid. After 14 days, a 10% handling fee based on the product cost will be deducted, and the original delivery charge is non-refundable. Refunds for Aosom items are processed within 7-14 business days of the return being received and inspected.
Mercia Garden Products (greenhouses, sheds & log cabins)
Changed your mind before your order has arrived? You can cancel free of charge at any point up to delivery. Just email us at help@norvengardens.com as early as you can, so we have the best chance of pulling it from the delivery run in time.
Once your Mercia item has been delivered, you have 14 days to return it for any reason, including a change of mind, and there is no return or restocking fee. To qualify, the item must be within the 14-day window, not assembled, and not painted or otherwise altered. Once you apply paint, this is treated as accepting the product and it can no longer be returned. Flat-packed items must be returned complete, disassembled and in the condition they arrived in. Return haulage costs may apply and will be confirmed with you before any collection is arranged.
Once your item has been collected and received back by Mercia, it typically takes 1-7 working days for our refund from Mercia to come through, and we'll pass this on to you straight away.
Norven garden buildings - sheds, potting sheds, log cabins, garden offices & log stores (made to order)
Our Norven garden buildings are made to order for you by our Yorkshire manufacturing partner.
Before delivery: you can cancel your order at any time before it is delivered. Please email help@norvengardens.com as early as you can, ideally before your delivery date is confirmed, as that is when your building goes into production.
After delivery (your 14-day right to cancel): you have 14 days from the day your building is delivered to tell us you want to cancel, for any reason including a change of mind, and a further 14 days after that to have it ready for collection. Please keep the building unassembled, untreated and unpainted, with all panels and parts, in the condition it arrived. If the building has been handled more than is needed to inspect it (for example assembled, treated, painted or cut), we may reduce your refund to reflect the loss in value.
Collection costs: our timber buildings are too large to return by post, so change-of-mind returns are collected by our delivery partner from the address they were delivered to. You pay the collection cost, which is worked out from your postcode, the distance from our manufacturer's depot, and the vehicle and labour needed. As a guide, collection costs up to £150. We will confirm the exact cost in writing before anything is booked and deduct it from your refund. There is no charge to return a building that is faulty, damaged or not as described.
Refunds: we will refund you within 14 days of your building being collected, to your original payment method.
Damaged, faulty or missing parts: please check your delivery when it arrives and note any visible damage on the delivery paperwork. Email clear photos of any damage, faults or missing parts to help@norvengardens.com, ideally within 48 hours of delivery, so we can sort it out quickly. We will arrange replacement parts, a replacement building or a refund at no cost to you. Spare parts are supplied to replace damaged or missing parts only.
Damages and issues
Please inspect your order when it arrives and contact us straight away if anything is defective, damaged or not what you ordered, so we can put it right.
Exceptions / non-returnable items
Certain items can't be returned, such as perishable goods (for example plants), items made to your personal specification, and gift cards. This doesn't include our standard made-to-order garden buildings, which can be returned as explained above. Sale items can be returned in the same way as full-price items.
Exchanges
The fastest way to get what you want is to return the item you have and, once the return is accepted, place a separate order for the new item.
Refunds
We'll let you know once we've received and inspected your return, and whether your refund has been approved. Approved refunds are made to your original payment method within 14 days. Please allow some extra time for your bank or card provider to process it. If more than 15 business days have passed since we approved your return, please contact us at help@norvengardens.com.

Questions about buying a garden building
Do prices include delivery?
Yes. Delivery is free to most of mainland UK. A small number of remote postcode areas carry a surcharge, which is shown at checkout before you pay, and a few areas can't take some of our larger buildings. See our Delivery & Returns page for delivery areas and lead times.
How will I know when my order is arriving?
Once you've ordered, we'll email you to confirm your delivery date or week and keep you updated as it gets closer. If you have any questions about a delivery, email help@norvengardens.com.
How do I choose the right size?
Each product page lists the external footprint and full specifications. Measure your space and leave a little room around the building for assembly and maintenance. Not sure which size or wall thickness to go for? Our team is happy to help on 01254 957094 or via our contact page.
Do I need a base?
Yes. All of our timber buildings and greenhouses need a firm, flat and level base, such as concrete, paving slabs or a timber base. The base isn't included unless stated. Get in touch if you'd like advice on the right base for your building.
Is installation included?
Most of our buildings are supplied for self-assembly, with instructions. Our Insulated Garden Rooms include installation as standard. For other buildings, contact us and we'll let you know what's available in your area.
Do I need planning permission?
In England, most garden buildings don't need planning permission if they're single-storey, under 2.5m tall when within 2m of a boundary, not in front of your house and not used as a bedroom. Different rules can apply to listed buildings, conservation areas, and in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, so please check with your local council or the Planning Portal before you order.
